if u have 4/8 zip-ties lying around, you could zip-tie both fans together passing between the fins for a cleaner look. used to do that on the xigmatek hdt-s1283 which only supported one fan natively...

I think I have to take the mobo/heat sink out of the case, though. The extension cable doesn't hold together and then the 8-pin becomes a dual 4-pin! UGH! I am trying to line up to the connector but the corner of the heat sink is obstructing my path a bit.

I am inquiring about upgrading to a cheap Sandybridge system, too.

I thought min. i3-2100T is as good, generally, as the Q6600 but a dual core. It's faster in most applications especially those only needing two cores.

I need to find out if I should get a decent mobo and then the cheap i3 cpu so I can buy another high end cpu later if I really want to. Or?????

At any rate, I am considering removing the mobo/heat sink out of the case and then I can re-do the fan attachment.... I could even take pictures and put 'em in an ad! LOL!

If only I could buy A SECOND SYSTEM! WOULD BE SO MUCH EASIER!

That 4 pin adapter looks interesting, thanks! I think I might go with it. Unfortunately, NCIX doesn't carry that one (anymore?) so I need to use ebay... ugh... that particular one is coming from HK(?) so more than a 3-wk wait! I might have to go with an American seller so hopefully cut down on that...

The extension cables I have already. I took so long because I was hesitant to invest in more parts for this old system ...wondering if I should upgrade... but, I guess if I look at it as not major investments...a few dollars here and there on cables! Just don't want it adding up.
