Best way to downspeed a Heat Sink Fan
 

I was wondering what the best way for me to downspeed a heat sink fan on an asus board of mine. I tried asus probe and it did nothing. Wondering if i have any options out there that are software as the bios has no available control to do so (that i can see) unless its silent and cool setting.

Which motherboard?

speedfan?

for probe to work, or any other utility for that matter, sometimes you have to mess around with the
bios, set it to auto,or such.


id put it on silent,and leave it be unless its deafening...:) then fan controller or another hs&fan would be recommended.

I thought you had to use a low speed resistor. I think linus talked about them.

that's always a possibility, but might not be necessary.
