For Fans, Coolermaster R4 or Blademaster Fans are top tier when it comes to heatsinks.

Or , get a V6GT as the fans that come on it are premium units.

i was about to pull the trigger on a v6gt earlier in the week (about 55$ if i remember) but i saw posts in forums about it not fitting in an antec 900.

It won't fit in the Antec 900, it's a 165mm tall heatsink. With the side fan removed the case only has clearance for 162mm IIRC. Standard ATX cases with a 120mm fan typically have clearance for 160mm tall heatsinks, depending on the side fan, which can be removed.

Might want to go for a Scythe Mugen, it can be had for $35 quite often and comes with a single decent fan, just over the Hyper 212 in performance as well.

If you're willing to shell out a bit more cash there's a lot of other choices. Prolimatech Meghalems, Thermalright Venomous-X, and Noctua NH-D14/U12P are the first that come to mind.

Cash isn't that much of a problem. You know more than most just how much those temps have been scaring the pants off me, so investing even 20-30 extra dollars into something that won't disappoint is not out of the question, in fact that's what i'm looking for.

The only other consideration is that there's no way in hell i'm dealing with push pins anymore.
