Long shot: alternate AM3 Hsf with stock dimensions Hey all, long story short: I moved my "net PC" , aka Minion, into an Antec ISK300-150 itx case and used the best stock and hsf I had (the version with two heatpipes). However, the temps are still a little high for my liking (40c at idle desktop, Athlon 2 x4 605e cpu) . Does anyone know of a better alternative with the same or smaller dimensions? Thanks all. |
maybe a 1u copper solution? not sure if the shuriken fits in there, either :) |
I don't know if it's any better, but I found this. |
Thanks for responses thus far guys. I shouldve explained better, but the stock heatsink im using right now is actually touching one of the supports for the case, and i dont want to chop-chop unless i have to. Some of the heatsinks arent exactly top-quality ones, and i want to make sure that there will be a noticable improvement in the temps if i do decide to change. Also, this is motherboard Minion is using: Newegg.ca - JetWay JNC84E-LF AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Mini ITX AMD Motherboard You can't quite tell from the pics, but the NB and VRM heatsinks both come very close to the socket and are somewhat taller than regular ones... which gives me more concerns about finding a replacement. I'll have to measure everything precisely i suppose. |
