Default Accelero S1 on 8800GT

Hey Guys,

This is my first time modding a graphics card and it was indeed fun. I just recently got my 8800GT step-up card from EVGA and decided to purchase an aftermarket VGA cooler for this card! As we all know the temperature is horrendous with stock cooling which can reach up to +85C . I was stuck between the HR-03GT and the AC Accelero S1, but soon realized that the temperature difference between the two are quite close. I ended up purchasing the AC Accelero S1 since it was cheaper and it performed almost on par with the HR-03Gt. Here are the materials I have purchased for my 8800GT cooling:

1 - Arctic Cooling Accelero S1
2 - Enzotech BCC9 Low Profile Forged Copper Ram Sinks
1 - Yate Loon DS12L 120MM Fan
1 - ArctiClean 1&2 Cleaning solution
1 - AC MX-2 Thermal Compound

Here are some pictures:

Here are all the materials.

Here is the EVGA 8800GT Vanilla.

Here are some pictures of the Accelero S1.

Here are some pictures of the Yate Loon DS12L 120MM fan being zipped tied.

Nice worklog! Thanks for sharing. They've got a great product there- good ol' A/C- I wish more companies were as practical- I love their philosphy of raw value. They take control of the market by producing great products for less.

As long as you have good airflow you don't need the extra sinks on the mosfets

So ATItool ran for 3 hours with 700/1728/1900 for 3 hours and no artifacts but when I tried the video stress test in CS:S it starts to lock up for a 1 min or so and it works fine after that. Hopefully I can find a stable OC.

Stupid Source... Well I fixed the problem! All I had to do was restart my computer for the overclock to take affect. I start getting artifacts at 700+ on my Core clock and my stable over clock stays at 700/1728/1900 .

I notice the board looks like it is visibly flexing a bit. I have a picture of the S1 mounted on a BFG 8600GT. Looks like it flexing a bit as well. I hope to buy a 8800GT soon, in fact I already purchased another S1 to put on that sucker. The picture doesn't really show the board flexing as much as a fish-eye lens effect, but it does look like it's flexing in real life. Thanks for your review!
