Software or physical probes?

It's pretty hard to get a physical probe on anything with a heatsink on it (CPU,GPU) There is really no accurate method that I know about.

Realtemp is good for CPU/GPU temp monitoring. (depending on your GPU)

If running an ATI card, then atitraytools is good. MSI afterburner is another good one.

If you want onscreen temps, FPS etc in games then Rivatuner can be used in conjunction with everest to provide GPU and CPU info.

Moved over to Everest recently. As it can read almost everything. Plus the fact that it can also output everything to the LCD on my G13.

Real Temp. Temperature reports are as accurate as you will get from any other source.

Real temp Everest are good. Some time your mobo come with a software you can also use it. You also have to look what part you want to monitor. If you awnt the video card temp then MSI afterburner is pretty nice. Everest is doing good in this also. Use everest for all the other part.
