CPU Heatsink help

Let me start off by saying hi :D I'm new to the forums, discovered this site through the NCIX forum. I need some help/suggestions on a new heat sink, I've been reading up on some heat sinks but there simply is too many to choose from and I am mindlessly lost lol, truly grateful for any kind of help I can get on this topic.

Need more info, specs for the computer and budget before I can help.

Running i5 750, G.Skill 1600 Tridents, Azza Solano 1000 case, Asus P7P55D Pro, ATI 5770 Budget is 100$

with that budget you can get the king, or some may call it v6 gt. king as in very good performance numbers for its 60 dollar price tag

and then you have the coolermaster 212+ which, under 25 dollars pm'ed, is the absolute best bang per buck so far to have laid our proud cpus!

Coolermaster V6 GT, Prolimatech Megahalems, Thermalright Venomous-X, etc. If you go with the Prolimatech or Thermalright then you'll need to get your own fan or fans. For heatsinks, I recommend Scythe Gentle Typhoon fans. The V6 GT comes with a pair of very good fans already, so if you go that route you don't need to buy anything extra.

You can also look in the noctua DH-14 if you want bigger cooler for lower fan speed with good performance. All the listed by zero are good and will give prefect performance on your system.

Just ordered a hyper 212, 2 scythe ultra kaze 3000rpm and scythe kaze q fan controller. I'm excited :D

LarkStarr September 8, 2010 08:54 PM

The 212 comes with a fan already.
-I dunno if it's a good fan though.

Also Dan, not everyone would know what "pm'ed" is. Some might think it was private messaged. Stop being lazy and type out pricematched and other acronyms and words you short form. :P Like Giga. asdf XD

the kaze will thow sone nice cfm, youre gonna do a push pull with it? let us know what temps you get

yeah,sorry, habit..:p

Smoogler September 8, 2010 09:25 PM

Yea I planned on using 1 scythe ultra on the heatsink for push/pull or should I use both?, I read the review for the hyper 212 on hardware canucks and heard the stock fan that came with the cooler was pretty good so I was considering leaving it on.
