Hey once again nice review AkG.. This is one helluva of a cooler, with the stock fans this thing is a beast..

The $57 price is worth every penny for this cooler, and it even comes with 2 fans, unlike some heatsinks that cost $59 by itself, and then the fans are extra.

My one small bit of advice is for you to maybe get a S1156 board before claiming universal memory clearance. I test exclusively on a S1156 board for all my heatsink reviews and trust me, most large heatsinks are directly interfering with the first 2 memory slots in such a manner making it nearly impossible to install taller sticks in the first two slots. The V6 does allow dual channel, but most tall heatsinks do not.

Excellent review though, not trying to infer anything was left out, just pointing out another variable. So many damn variables when it comes to heatsink reviews......

Do you know what model # they are and if they're sold seperately? Would be of use to people buying non GT V6.

I have no idea if they're sold separately, and according to the review they are the S4 fans.

At this time, Cooler Master is only sampling the GT model.

It is currently available at Newegg.ca: Newegg.ca - COOLER MASTER V6 GT RR-V6GT-22PK-R1 120mm DynaLoop CPU Cooler w/ Universal bracket & Dual Fan

Having read the GT review, and having a V6 in my possession, I'd say they're almost the same.

Only real differences with the V6:

- Nickel plating of the copper on the base

- No LED Strip on the fan shroud

- Included fan has red LEDs

- Only one fan included

- Cheaper in price

The included fan might be different spec besides the red LEDs but I've yet to compare the serials of it and the V6.

Good day, is the GT version worth $20 premium over regular V6 model?

Sorry for bumping this old thread but the review is really confusing to me

For e.g.

Once again we are seeing some awfully impressive results as the V6 GT can at the very least tie the Thermalright Venomous X. That really sums things up nicely and helps put this heatsink in its proper perceptive: it can play with some of the best coolers out there. Unfortunately, at all but stock loads it is unable to really match the might of Prolimatech’s beast.

How come??

How are Prolimatech/Venomous better when the temps of V6 was quite lower in the
Mid-Speed Fan Performance Results graph, and other as well i really dont get it.

CM V6GT -

Peak - 73c
Average Load - 69
idle 37

Prolimatech

Peak - 80
Average Load - 76
Idle - 42

This is clear win for the V6, also the same confusing conclusion for that graph is for the
Venomous X.

Venomous X

Peak - 81
Average Load - 76
Idle - 42

Please, someone explain this to me because i plain to buy the V6 GT, thanks!

Smile Cases and Cooling

While it is a good cooler, I returned mine as it was waayyy too loud for me.

Now the V10, well that is in a class by itself. That thing is a beast!!!
