That would be doing a disservice to you our readers. Comparing it to 92mm coolers is also not fair as this IS a 120mm cooler.

I use a horizontal mounting orientation for all CPU cooling solutions as that is a worse case scenario and allows an apples to apples comparison.

Make sense at all. So if it's a low profile cooler that have been tested with the regular we can conclude that it's a f****ing good LP cooler. Maybe I will give it a try.

Oh, I didn't realize they marketed it as able to beat other tower coolers. That was pretty dumb of them... how does it affect VRM/RAM/chipset temps with the downward airflow?

Well it do beat some of tower cooler like some crap out there. But our list include only the best of them so it's hard to beat them for a LP cooler.

If this HSF is listed as HTPC-oriented, would it be possible to test it using a chip that is more related to an HTPC? The i7 920 is overkill for such an application.
As far as other HTPC / SFF HSFs go, there are very few but I do use a Thermalright AXP-140, cooling an AMD 720BE in my HTPC. It may not fit all SFF cases but it is a low-profile cooler.

Mass has zero impact on the air flow, the areal density of the fins does (among other things).

I wonder how well this cooler stacks up to other low profile coolers, because it certainly can't compare to the big boys.

Sorry my bad just using his words. The most applicable word would definitely by aerial density.
