Are these fans any good? Hey there, I am going to be getting an FT02 case with a Zalman flex cooler, and I am going to be doing push/pull. I am trying to figure out what fans to get. I have heard that you don't want sleeve bearing fans in a horizontal position, correct? If I don't go with sleeve bearing fans that eliminates quite a few options. Noctua fans are probably a safe bet, but I am going for aesthetics as well and it doesn't really jive. Does anyone have these fans? XIGMATEK XIGMATEK I like the idea of white LED fans in a black case, and these seem to be rifle bearing fans spinning at 1500 RPM. Good plan? I am looking for something not crazy loud as well. |
Why don't you try the GELID fans, specifically the WINGS Series? They have those "Nanoflux Bearings". |
Good idea, thanks for that. Does anyone have any opinions on Xigmatek fans in general? |

Stick with the safe bet, Noctua. If you want you can try the Silverstone AP121, I got one of those as a side case fan for my GPU and it dropped NB/GPU temps while making less noise than my previous NZXT fan at the same RPM. Plus it can be had for ~$13 after PM. Otherwise Gelid is always a good budget-esque solution if you don't want to spend a lot. The Thermalright x-silent series is supposed to be "optimized" for HSF applications, but strangely enough it only seems to be that way for the 140mm version. The 120mm does alright in a high static environment, but I would only consider it as another budget solution. It's ~$6 after PM. |
Thanks for the info. |
