Thermalright Venomous X CPU Cooler Review Comment Thread

There was a time when Thermalright was the undisputed champion in the CPU cooling market. In the last two years their lead has been gradually chipped away by the competition to the point where their once-leading TRUE is playing second fiddle to the likes of Prolimatech, Noctua and even Zalman. Their answer is called the Venomous X and in this review we see if it lives up to Thermalright's legacy.

yup, looks good as a cooler. was quite impressed by the low fan speed results..actually expected it to be way further away from mega,,,value page tells it all tough :)

grammaticals look ok.

I used this cooler on an i5 750 cliet build and although the monutin hardware (pressure bar) was gimmicky at first, I was able to have it solved within five minutes of getting some insight from other members.

Great quality review :thumb:

Could we have perhaps reached the thermal limits of copper with air coolers? There really hasn't been anything "innovative", other than HDT technology, over the last several years. Yeah, bigger is better but there is a point where it still can't take all the heat away...

Thermalright's Venomous X product page ( Ultimate CPU Cooling Solutions! USA ) lists the Thermalright AMD Socket AM2 / AM3 BOLT-THRU-KIT REV.2 as the proper AM3 Adapter

Good price for the adapter kit:
Thermalright AMD Socket AM2 / AM3 BOLT-THRU-KIT REV.2 for Ultra Series / HR Series / Ultima 90 - DirectCanada

For the first time buyer of a Venomous, I would suggest purchasing the the Venomous X-RT.
When in stock this is a good price:
