Default VGA Cooler for Nvidia GeForce 9800GT

Hey everyone,

My old Nvidia 8800GT burned out last summer, two weeks before the warranty was up (good timing FTW). So I sent it in for RMA, and they sent me back a new 9800GT to replace it. Now, I really don't want to burn out another video card (this was the second that burned out on me) so I want to get a VGA cooler for it. I don't overclock or anything, but my temp is about 50 degrees idle, and usually around 68-71 degrees playing WoW or TF2 (my main two games).

I'm also planning on getting a 120mm intake fan in the front of my case, since it looks like there is the space & mounting holes for it there.

So what do you guys suggest for a good fan & VGA cooler? I'm not too picky on noise level. I don't want a vaccuum cleaner sitting there, but I use a headset for the most part, so if its a little bit on the noisier side of things thats ok, as long as it keeps things cool.

I use a Zalman VF900-Cu which keeps my 9800GT below 60C under a full load.

What are the temps on your 9800GT? Hard to imagine a GPU burn out as the max temp is 105C I believe... Running it at like 70C under load is perfectly normal.

Agreed... 70C is nothing to worry about... I have one that runs 90-95C folding 24/7...
