Default Overclocking HSF for Q9550?

I have my eyes on the 212 PLUS, but does anyone have any other recommendations?

Get the 212. With price match (NCIX) you can get for as low as $25. And it will fit anything if you go to i7 or i5 or amd.

I'd like to add it's the best bang for buck cooler ever. 2nd would be the OCZ Vendetta 2 and Xigmatek HDT-S1283.

I use a TRUE on my Q9550w/2x Scythe SS(1600rpm) p/p. I've hit some awesome levels for a C1 Q9550 using it. And, it managed to dissipate the heat of up to 1.660 vCore(long enough for Spi 1M, PiFast,wPrime 32M and Cinebench R10 64-xCPU ) in CPU-Z. 1.60v is no problem at all...though scary for anything long-term. They're a little expensive, but you know they'll perform awesomely.

I have try many of them. CM212+ Prolimatech Megahalem ( currently in use ) Corsair Hydro H50 OCZ vendetta 2. For the money the 212 is way the best but...the prolimatech have give me the best result and silence. For sure, I would recoment the 212 again and again ( except if the megahalem is on sale for a good price ). Get it you wont regret!

Ask for more.

What it mostly boils down to, is whether you want the best air-cooling/$ or the best air-cooling period. The TRUE, Megahalems, IFX-14 and a few other less-popular HS's offer the best performance going(price aside), but we're only talking differences of a few degrees C at load, even less at idle and low-usage.

212 is very light compared to TRUE and Megahalems. Something to consider as well.
