About 5 months ago I replaced the Vendetta 2 stock fan with Noctua P12 and temps dropped 4.

I wish I can get that. How did you mount the vendetta 2, with fan pointing upwards or to the back? I have mine pointing to back.

Strap a Zalman CNPS10X Extreme to it, probably get better temps.

My thoughts at least.

I've never been a fan of Noctua Fans, not for their performance (they do have substantial engineering behind them) but just for the looks.

For me, Noise isn't an issue. So I used at the time AeroCool Xtreme's.

Fairly old news to me. Noctua P12 are definitely not bad fans, but for $20 a pop, they are definitely not a good value. There are many alternatives that cost half as much and perform about the same, and aren't an eye-sore. And if you do want to get the best fan regardless of budget, the San Ace H1101's running at 5V will out do any fan at the same voltage. Only downsides being its 38mm so it wont fit everywhere, they are not cheap (I've seen them for $25USD each) and they are almost impossible to find (I heard they are discontinuing that exact model and replacing it with something newer).

SilentPCreview seems to love Nexus Real Silent fans, however you can do the same with Yate Loon D12SL's as the Nexus fans are just VERY selectively picked YL's. You can buy 4 YL's for the price of 1 Nexus so you can just buy a crapload and use the best ones.

Anbody use these and the Gelid 120mm that NCIX has? They are both about the same price and I'm looking to replace my stock case fans as they are far too noisy.

I have some and I like them, they aren't as good as some other fans but for only $3 you really can't complan. They are a big improvement over any stock case fans but they don't push too much air. Grills really mess with them.
