Default Advice on a Xigmatek 'Red Scorpion'

So I'm looking to attempt a core unlock, and some O/C'ing on my X2 550BE. But before I go at this, I am going to upgrade my stock cooler. The one I'm looking at right now is the Xigmatek Red Scorpion. I've read nothing but good reviews on the cooler, except for the people complaining about the 'push pin' mounting system.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this cooler? It seems to be very decent performance, and price is key. If anyone knows of this being a bad cooler, let me know. I'm also open to suggestions, but remember I'm looking to keep the price reasonable. I'm not looking to squeeze every last drop out of the system, just O/C a bit and stay in the safe zone.

I think it's just a xiggy with a decent fan

The Red Scorpion is just the S1283 with a different fan. I have an S1283 and it does a fine job of cooling my Q9550. You'll be fine with that cooler and your CPU (although you may want to go with the standard HDT-S1283 instead if it comes out cheaper).

I have a regular HDT-S1283 as well and no complaints.

Get this instead: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 AM3 LGA1366 LGA775 LGA1156 120MM - DirectCanada

It comes with 4 fan clips if you want to do push/pull.

I just picked one of those up, it's mounting style is brilliant, as I mentioned to you.... I don't know about it's volume yet as that machine will just turn on tomorrow for the first time.

Let me know Perineum. Volume's fairly important, but the price is right...

I ordered 2x but of course I haven't received them yet. I plan on putting couple of Noctua NF-P12s (which I already have).
