What kind of Vcore are you using to get 4.3G? That's definately the kind of OC that would push an air cooling solution.

Nice pics sswilson! Flash is not your friend, but exposure is! Too bad on the light conditions, but hey, you have what's available. Excellent procedure and I'm actually considering getting a small AMD rig for a performance HTPC. I just may look into this cooler. Thanks man!

Well I broke down and picked one up for the HTPC.

I havnt had a aftermarket HS in years now, the HTPC is using the POS stock hs and my rig is under water.

Even though it isnt designed for passive I am interested if it will keep my 8750 cool enough without the fan.

Since the 8800gt that is in the HTPC is passive it would be nice to have a passive solution, if not then no big deal.

I will post up the results in this thread when I do but keep in mind the 8750 isn't overclocked and it isn't a huge heatdump to begin with.

212 should be here Monday.

Glad to hear it helped out. Installing your first aftermarket cooler can be a daunting task and I know I appreciated pictoral guides when I was first starting (hell I still appreciate them if I'm having problems... ;) ).

Once you've got everything together, be sure to post some pics.

definately think i did this installation wrong. your mounting nut on the back and on the processor side seem to be flush with the board. mine arent flush. The heatsink doesnt move though so i'm afraid of overtightening it.... question did you just a wrench to hold the nut in place while u tightened it down...otherwise it just spins at a certain point.

There should be a nutdriver with the hardware you got.

Yah i'm going to yank it back out and try to get some pictures up. I used the nut driver but eventually it stops...and it still wobbles back and forth until i use the screw from the bracket to tighten it down. Its probably fine but never done a heatsink swap so i'm a little freaked out haha.

also did you do the "line" method with the thermal compound or did you spread it urself. I did the spred it very thin....thin enough so that you still see "amd" clearly. If i end up taking the heatsink off better make sure im doing that right as well.

Ok i decided to boot the computer for the first time rather than yank it again. Right now in msi bios it's reading 45 degrees Celsius CPU temp. I'm letting it sit in the bios screen. Is this high?
