How can I lower my CPU core temp like 6 months ago?

This summer is quite cool in Toronto but I've noticed that the core temp for all cores is around 50 C. I use Core I7 920 and run at 3.9GHZ with Noctua U12P SE1366. I clean the inside of the computer with air-duster and vacuum at least once a month.
When I built this desktop in December last year, the core temps were around 40C.
I know that cold weather also contributes to the overall temp but I sense there's something I'm neglecting. What do you think of this? Should I redo the unpleasant task of applying the thermal paste or replacing the fans?

Since you're air cooling, ambient temperature does a lot to manipulate the CPU temp. There isn't much you can really do, especially if you clean out your computer once a month. As long as your temps aren't breaking 85C (IIRC, that's Intel's official spec) you should be fine.

Seriously, even at 50 degrees, you're laughing. The i7's going into the Dell and HP desktops with stock coolers are seeing higher temps than that, and those companies stand to foot the bills for warranty/tech support if that was actually a reliability/longevity issue.

Keep distance to TJMax >20 and forget about temps.

You're fine. If you have those same temps come winter then re-install your heatsink with some new thermal paste.

...and check your GPU and PSU- they can get pretty clogged, and increase the case interior temps.

You will regardless have warmer temps in the summer then the winter unless you keep your house the exact same temp and humidity all year round, as well, that 50C is still a great temp. Only thing that could potentially help is see if you need more thermal compound but it shouldnt have dried up in only 6 months
