Default Now THIS is what I call air cooling!

Just for chits and giggles I thought I would hook up a dryer hose from the central air vent to the side of the HAF and see what the temp difference would be. Much to my surprise, it didn't make as much of a difference in cpu temps as I hoped but what a difference in vreg and nb/sb! vreg went from 56-58c down to 45c and nb/sb from 35c to 23c!

Pure. Awesome.

I wonder if the air isn't hitting the heatsink properly? Maybe if you added a tiny baffle so that the vented air is aimed towards the front of the case, where the heatsink fan can then draw it through the fins properly?

Well, I figure its because the cpu is WC'd so the cooler air really doesn't get at it enough to make a big difference, it did drop from 36-37c to 33-34c though so a couple of degrees isn't too bad.

I'm starting to think you have way too much time on your hands.

That being said, that was so randomly cool its not even funny.

Epic!

LOL!...MOI??....too much time on my hands?.....eh hemmm....no comment I'm off for a couple of weeks and my wife isn't on holidays until next week, so yeah, I have a little time to kill

Actually, this is something I wanted to try last summer but just never got around to it. My wife and I were at Home Depot picking up a couple of things when she reminded me about it, so for all of $14 I figured why not and it only took me 5 min to do

Don't think I haven't thought about it! But I think it does more good where it is, cooling down the vreg and nb/sb was really the main goal so I think I'll just leave it alone

How about build an airtight container with only two openings, one with the duct connected to it, and the other as exhaust? Not sure if that'll work too well, but hey, that would definitely be a fun weekend project.
