a lot of 4870 memory chips are not covered with heat sinks and to do so can make them run hotter look for your self. my 4870 has no ram sinks just a fan blowing air over them

Ok... no ram sinks at all? Weird, but ok. And the voltage regulators had sinks?

This dam cooler can't be found anywhere, though... all online retailers do not have any in stock... had to happen when NCIX had free shipping deal...

I have a gigabyte 4870 512 with an accellero s1 rev 2 on my rig with 2 120x20x20 Yate loons on them. It is A LOT QUIETER than before the mod but still a tad warm but no complaints for me. The tricky part was strapping on the fans as well as fitting that last ram sink on. Some people bend the sink so it fits, and then there are others like me whom just rotated it so it fit on.

Okay thanks, im just affraid i screw up. For example i realize the ramsinks i put on won't allow the accelero to fit. I'd have to remove one and i'll lose the thermal paste... which i dont have spare.

Here's an update, i bought my Twin Turbo, installed it an hour ago. Everything went fine, had good temps, but now temps are going higher and higher. At first, it was under 40 degrees at idle now it's 68 degres... higher than stock!

Had no problem installing but this problem seems to say the opposite.

Second problem : i cannot modify the fan speed, it seems to be a 100%, it is plugged with 4 pins on my gpu... ati overdrive and riva tuner won't change the speed.

Help?
