TRUE 120 idle and load temp for i7 920
 

i am using Thermalright Ultra Extreme 120 on my core i7 920
Oced to 3.8 Ghz at 1.25Vcore
with single fan at push around 2100rpm and 80 cfm
my idle temp is at 41 ~ 43 degree
and loaded temp is around 69 ~ 73

is the temperature normal or is it slighty high using a TRUE?

Looks about right....i run 3.83 Ghz 202 x 19 Memory 1612 vCore 1.325v
Idle 35c - 39c
Load Max 68c

But i'm running the TRUE with 2 x 120mm 1500 RPM Scythe SFlex Push n Pull.....I originally had a single fan but found my load Temp at 4 Ghz was pushing 80c..so got the second one.

That looks normal for HT on, is it?

With my i7 920 on load with prime95 it reaches around 68, and that's at 3.5 with 1.248 Vcore. Also that's with a TRUE, attached with a Sycthe Ultra Kaze 133cfm. I've always wondered if that's kind of high, or if maybe my overclock isn't set up as good as it could be.

My D0 chip runs 191x21 (with Turbo on) with load temps as high as 78 and idle at 48. It does run quite hot, but I'm even at voltages within spec of the chip (1.2V).

Now that the Waterblock is available for the Classified NB that seems to be the way to go....even with an additional 60mm and 40mm strapped onto the NB the Temps their are high...idling 60c in BIOS. Thiers no way I'll go to 4Ghz and run my CPU at 80c, along with 2 x 280's running at 75c load....gets way too toasty in thier.........

Me too man. I'm actually kind of excited to get into it. I think I may just tone down my OC as well because I can play all my games more than fine at those speeds. Who knows though...

I've tried gaming on this Classified / I7 at both Stock and 3.83...no difference at all.....the only differences are Benches.....
Looking forward to the WC as well.....have to research now as I have never WC....

yah i am thinknig to switch to Prolimatech MegaHalems heat sink

is it wroth it vs a TRUE 120 ?
or maybe i should just switch it to WC for the sake of slient system

putting so much fan make it really loud >_<
