I'm a cheapass so I say save the $25 and go for the Scythe. The thermalright will definitely be the better cooler, and you SHOULD even be able to run passively with it, if your running a dual core and have decent ventilation.
The Scythe has a PWM fan however so it remains fairly silent when it needs to.

If you want a quiet fan for the TR, you will have to splurge a good $10 extra for a decent fan, and even then you won't have PWM capabilities, but you may also be able to run passively.

i will probably get the TR. I don't really care about money, i'd rather spend the extra 25$ and have better cooling. As for a fan, i'm going to get a noctua p12 most likely
