Default IFX-14 90-degree rotation.

Fairly simple question I put forth to thee all: Has anyone ever seen how or has successfully mounted an IFX-14 at a 90-degree rotation to the standard mounting on an AM2/AM2+ motherboard? I ask this because I want to use my lovely IFX-14 that I've had sitting around (thanks to 3.0Charlie) but want to direct the airflow Upwards towards my larger 230mm Antec fan rather than the rear 120mm fan. So in short, has anyone done this and how? Thanks in advance!

Based on the design of the heatsink I don't think this is possible CMetaphor. The heatpipes extend to far out for a bracket to be mounted around them the only board I know that would be capable is the M2N32 SLI Delxue since the socket faces vertically rather than horizontally.

So I guess I'll just have to pray that any motherboard I get in the future has the socket already mounted sideways. I've seen mention of an "s-type clip" for certain
Thermalright heatsinks but I believe it's only compatible with standard clip-on type retention systems - which I would NOT trust to a huge cooler like an IFX-14.

Correct the S-Clip was only inteded to allow heatsink to rotate 90 degrees on the CPU socket. (For HR-01, Ultra-90, Ultra-120, SI-97A, and SI-128)

AFAIK the mounting system from the IFX-14 is the same or very similar to the TRUE's/Ultra120's. What about something like the mounting system for the HR-01s? I Know they use a pivoting pair of overlapping "S" brackets to bend around the heatpipes for mounting, would that work?

I just looked at the website and it does say it has the option to rotate 90 degree, sorry C I missed that.

Is the mounting hardware long enough to extend the other way on the AM2 socket? If it just switch the mount and it should work, I have seen it done on the LGA775.

It's easy with 775 mounting since the mounting holes are symmetrical in all directions. With AM2+ however, it is not... I'll have to double check to see if the stock AM2 plate can be "flipped" but if i remember correctly its two brackets the attached to mounting holes via bolt-true then a single thin bracket is bolted to that... I really don't see how else to mount it.
