What are those things that can be used instead of screws?

They don't deteriorate while installed. But if they're there long enough (i.e. a year), they might crack/rip when you're trying to uninstall them. But no worries about a fan dropping on you by surprise.

I have never had a fan fall from one of these. As stated they get brittle and cracked from age, they tend to break while removing them when they are that old.
I have a set in the wifes desktop that have to have been in there for at least 2 years now.

Yeah, they're really expensive, but if the OP doesn't want to order from the US a couple of sets will be less than the larger set I found earlier.

Heh... you edited in the second link after I'd selected quote, but it still showed up.... :)

Something to keep in mind with both of the sets you linked to is that they require "open" screwholes in the fan body. If the fans are the ones with "full length" tubing for the screwholes then those won't have anything to grip onto.

I nkow perpc is outragous for shipping IMO, if Gary would get more items in stock I would buy more from him, mind you he has been getting more and more stock.

It seems like there are no cheap rubbers out there, so picked up 2 more gelid Fans at DC for 3.61 each + a 1tb WD
