I bought Noctua NH U12P 1366.
I use Antec 182 and this case doesn't let out the heat well.
I like the fans included in the kit but I would go for Thermalright 1366 heatsink.

Yeah that TRUE is looking like my best option for sure. I could also put 2 fans on it instead of 1, so should cool very well paired with my wind tunnel case!
I can also put my beloved LED fans on that sucker... I am a big fan of LED's (pun intended!)

Now... just have to wait for it to become available I'll probably still OC with the stock weakness heatsink... think I can get to 3.0 ghz safely? LOL

you could do 3GHz on stock cooling.

Smile What is the best for the money?

I am planning on buying a new computer soon with the i7 920 and Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 MOBO with HAF 932 case and i have been looking everywhere for a descently priced cooling fan. I am buying my computer from 2 places (tigerdirect and memoryexpress) and i get the stock intel fan free with the i7. my first question is, is the intel fan any good? My second question is, if not which is the best buy?

Tigerdirect and memoryexpress only have 4 different fans for the i7, none of which are under 70$. My choices and between:

Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 $105
Zalman CNPS9900 (9800/9500 reguire adapter)$100
Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme w/mount $85
Thermaltake V1 AX $72

Also, what kind of overclocking could i expect from the best of these, and are these worth the high prices?

Why not buy from NCIX? You can price match everything from Tiger Direct or other sites.

You can get an Xigmatek HDT-S1283 & Adapter for $55
NCIX.com - Buy Xigmatek HDT-S1283 Direct Touch 3 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 LGA775 S754 S939 S940 W 120MM PWM Fan - HDT-S1283 In Canada.
NCIX.com - Buy Xigmatek ACK-I7361 Crossbow Mounting Kit LGA1336 775 for HDT-S963 HDT-S1283 RS-S1283 - ACK-I7361 In Canada.
Will perform pretty on par with the TRUE, slighly worse but not very significant.

Smile what is the shipping cost?

tiger direct has a 5$ shipping cost for Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 and Thermaltake V1 AX and memory express is free. What is the shipping cost for this site? I am trying to save every penny i can on this so even if i save 5$ and get it from somwhere else it's worth it, even if i have to wait.

also is the Thermalright IFX-14 any good at $80 plus an adapter

Shipping is like $7.98 to where I live. That still is cheaper than every heatsink you listed. I can almost guarantee you that buying your whole order @ NCIX and price matching will be cheaper than Tiger Direct and Mem Ex.

thanks

off topic>>>why is i7 920 so much cheaper from tigerdirect then anywhere else? it is only $350 where memxpr in $400 and NCIX is $430. Makes it seem like theres some sort of catch.

Newegg.ca has it for $350 also... Not sure why it's so much lower, competing maybe?

I went with the TRUE for my i7 build, temps are fine, but still waiting on my RAM before I OC it..
