Total overkill imo. Other companies like Sager have been offering quad core laptops for sometime. I'd rather soak the extra cash into a higher end graphics card in a notebook than a quad. You can buy a cheaper notebook with a similar graphics card and upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 xtreme without much trouble. That'd be a better investment.
