I recently tossed out my case and built a tech bench type setup:
Undo the thumbscrews holding the expansion cards to the back brace and it pops right out. The standoffs screwed nicely into the wood with the right sized pilot hole. A holesaw to pass the water and wires through.
A pic of the underside. PS, HD's and rad.
Here is my latest experiment. Look ma no fans!
Thats the AC condenser from a Chevy Silverado, hides behind the couch.
Absolutely rocks the cooling. I'm running 5-7C cooler than the 220 with the fans cranked. Been stressing it for 2 days now. Peaks out at 48c CPU and does not get slowly hotter. The 220 peaked at 55c. Running a q6600@3890 1.52V, 4850 at 830/1100 with mem and core volt mods, 1.4 core and 1.27 mem. Blessedly silent, can't hear the PS fan, just the hard drives. Going to get some silent enclosures for them. Hot tank and paint the Condenser, and tidy up the tubing. I'll probably remove the 220 from the loop, just not needed. The mcp655 has no trouble pushing this loop. It's rated to 50psi after all.
Silence is golden, believe me.
Total Cost.
$13.86
2-4 ft lengths of tubing and 4 hose clamps. The Condensor was free.
