Cheator was kind enough to give me a shout to verify that I didn't have any issues with a line to Ottawa. (pretty close to clear as a bell).

He's also suggested that I check out the lines by plugging directly into the modem so I'm going to do some local testing to see if I can duplicate the snag.

The most pronounced echos I've recieved have been from a certain on-line retailer out west, so it's possible that it's a combination of their setup with the use of headsets.
