Some boards are picky about RAM - I had this problem a few years ago with an old motherbaord - RAM errors, CRC errors on files on disc, blue screen, GPFs, kernel32.dll, protection fault, blue screens at loading, you name it - those are classic symptoms of memory problems ! the same ram modules worked great on another system, and those were Micron based too! So it's a good thing to check your motherboard's QVL for tested and approved RAM, at least you are certain that specific models were TESTED - the list is sometimes small and it doesn't mean that you can ONLY use those, but if you want to play it safe...
