My System Specs

First off, I would like to thank in advance for any and all feedback and support.

In this build, I will attempt to tame a hot running Haswell CPU and 2 fire breathing AMD Radeon R9 290X GPUs in Crossfire with a custom liquid cooling loop. This will be my first attempt at setting up one. I sure do hope this goes well!

I intend to use it as a workstation and for 4K gaming eventually (looking at getting the Dell 24" UP2414Q 4K monitor). I also want to achieve cool and quiet operation.

    • I chose this processor because I need hardware virtualization support, and, as a developer, I may want to try out the transactional memory instructions.

  • 2 x AMD Radeon R9 290X Reference video cards

  • 2014-01-25: Picked up most of the liquid cooling parts.
  • 2014-01-26: Ordered remaining liquid cooling parts, fans and connectors.
  • 2014-01-26: Assembled and tested the main components.
  • 2014-01-27: Ordered fasteners.
  • 2014-01-29: Remaining liquid cooling parts arrive
  • 2014-01-30: Fasteners, fans and connectors arrive.
