Default Yet another HTPC build- help?

This is something I've been playing with the idea of for a long time. I watch a lot of downloaded TV because primetime doesn't fit my life/schedule. Here's a bunch of stuff/junk/parts around the house that I would love to see used.

- Existing home theatre stuff -
Sharp Aquos LC46D64U 46" LCD
Yamaha HTR-6080
Harmony Remote 880
Energy 5.1 Speakers

- Junk from the tickle trunk -
Antec Fusion Black with 430w (new)
2GB Crucial DDR2 8500 (recently pulled from my rig)
WD GP 500gb sata2 hard drive (cause it won't work with my P5K-Premium)
random 120-300gb IDE hard drives (WD/Seagate/Maxtor)
ATI x1950pro 256mb PCI-e
ATI x800 128mb PCI-e
Nvidia 6200 TC
Nvidia 5200
Creative sound blaster Live digital
7.1 C-Media sound card (if I didn't give it away - don't know the model)
Hauppage HVR-1800 PCI-e 1x
Hauppage HVR-1600 PCI
random 16x dvdrws
random ddr1 512-1024
matx 939 nforce4 MSI oem vanilla board + a64 3200
matx 754 ecs goal3 + sempron 3000 (not sure if this works, hard to find a s754 to test)
pentium 4 775 preshott 3ghz 5xx think 506 but I could be wrong.
Linksys WMP54G PCI
D-Link AG530 PCI

Ideally I would take all the newish Intel stuff and get a matx board - but I haven't found one I'm too happy with. I'd like a 780g but that means buying a new board + cpu at all once, which is hard to pass by she-who-controls-the-purse + not recycling my garbage.

Any thoughts? I just want something that play my media / record tv. Comfortable with Linux and tried have so far tried Mythbuntu but wouldn't mind gaming - guess I could dual boot. I have a DVI<-->HDMI cable that I've been playing with so far. So help / advice / offers to help me clean my house. I'll take it!

Edit 1: added 2 wifi cards to list of junk
