My System Specs

Default Media Server Advice

I am currently using the following,

CPU AMD A4 5300 APU
MOTHERBOARD MSi FM2-A55M-E33
RAM AMD MEMORY Entertainment Edition 4GB PC3-12800 CL9 DDR3 SDRAM (1 x 4GB)
SSD Kingston 64GB (already own)
CASE/PSU INWIN IW-BK623 Micro ATX Tiny Tower, Black w/ 300W Power Supply

as an XBMC based HTPC and streaming files over Powerline adaptors from my DNS 323 NAS. I recently discovered Sickbeard, Couchpotato, SABnzbd and would like to convert the HTPC into a media server/media player. I will add extra HDD for storage but would like to know if this is possible and if so which OS would be the easiest to setup and use? I would like to use Plex to manage the streaming part. I know that I could just but a new Synology NAS with an Atom CPU and install all the apps from there but they are very expensive, I would like to use my current HTPC and just add a couple of HDD for storage, I could even sell the DNS 323 after its all setup.

Up to now I have discovered the following OS options.
Linux Mint with addons
Windows with addons
Custom distro of linux [Flawless] Server Beta ISO Released! - httpimpin
