I'd unplug everything possible including cd-rom's, all extra hard drives, video card if you have onboard video, remove patch cable from NIC, all usb devices aside from mouse and keyboard, and leave just one stick of ram in and then see what the boot times are like. My suspicion is that it's a hardware/cable issue as posting is taking way too long.

Create something idiot proof and they will make a better idiot.
