Default Deciding on ASUS Laptop

Hello all, been awhile since I posted, I mostly just lurk. I am going to buy a new laptop to replace my Alienware from 2008 that has survived two deployments. I've narrowed it down to these two laptops, and I just wanted some feedback. They are both ASUS 55 series laptops

ASUS A55A-TH52 Laptop Computer - 3rd generation Intel Core i5-3210M 2.5GHz, 6GB DDR3, 750GB HDD, Blu-ray Player/DVDRW, 15.6 Display, Windows 8 64-bit, 1-Year Warranty, 1-Year Accidental at TigerDirect.com

Newegg.com - ASUS A55VD-NS51 Notebook Intel Core i5 3230M(2.60GHz) 15.6" 6GB Memory DDR3 1600 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD±R/RW NVIDIA GeForce GT 610M

I am leaning toward the one from Newegg mostly because of the non-integrated graphics card. The tiger direct one has a larger HDD and a blueray player, but I have no desire to invest in Blue ray disks. I can also get an external HDD to make up the difference or install a SSD.

Any feedback or a recommendation of another laptop below $700 that has around the same specs as these two laptops, would be much appreciated!
