True but if selling his current card and depending on the price of the 770 it may be worth the extra coin for less trouble with sli profiles for xyz new / unsupported game, power heat and noise considerations aside.

I would give it a couple of weeks and see what is available then. As far as I've seen there won't be any more relevant cards released till next year after may.

Also worth considering a single 7970.. If the 770 is really going to be a re-badged 680 then the 7970 will be as fast (+ or - depending on title), generally better at higher resolutions and over $100 cheaper for the cheapest custom cooled options from both camps (from pcpartpicker, not including the extra games they have bundled and a $30 MIR on top of that in comparison to 680)
