For me personally I currently have a 3 monitor setup with a 22 in the mid, 20 and 17 on either side an am planning on moving from the 22 to a 27 and keeping the other 2. So its a bit simpler for me but is there a reason you won't be keeping either of you older monitors as a secondary?

You will be loosing some real estate for sure but in my experience a bigger primary is better than splitting it between 2 smaller displays.
