The FX-4300 has only 4, not 6 cores. And at that, they aren't full cores. If you meant the FX-6300, then yes you would be correct. For Vegas, the AMD chip may be better in 6 core form than an i3, but for gaming the opposite is likely true. Single thread performance on the AMD chips is lagging well being Intel.
