Plug the drive in as a 'D' in a secondary rig. Download the Intel Toolbox. Install the toolbox. It will find the drive. Click the 'update firmware' button. It will tell you if you have the latest firmware installed.
I honestly dont think you can upgrade the firmware via USB....and honestly even if you could I would strongly recommend NOT doing it. When flashing the firmware you want to reduce the ways in which the Fickle Finger of Fate can finger you....not increase them. ;)

You can also just look at the label on the SSD itself. 400i is the latest version....and its been out a looooong time now. ;)
