My System Specs

Audiosurf, any of the BIT.Trip games, Blocks That Matter, Binding of Isaac, Braid, Cave Story+, Crayon Physics, Dead Pixels, Flock, HOARD, Limbo, LEGO games, Orcs Must Die 1 & 2, Portal 1 & 2, Super Crate Box, Super Meat Boy, Team Fortress 2, The Sims (or MySims), VVVVVV, World of Goo, World of Zoo. I'd agree with Spore as well.

Just went through my Steam games list for most of those and I think most of those should be fine for a youngin. Not sure if any are too complex for a, can't remember what a 4 year old's thinking capacity is like :) A lot of the games allow you to use a 360 controller with them, if you have one. Super Meat Boy basically requires one.

You could also setup an emulator (NES, SNES, Sega, N64, etc.) and then just download a ROM pack. Again, a controller would be best.
