My System Specs

Does photoshop require a video card to do any rendering? I'm not familiar with the program. If not, I would go with the most powerful IB i7 processor and IGP, and a couple of large SSD's in RAID1 (for redudancy) to store all of your programs/files. Backup regularly from the SSD's to the 1TB WD Black HDD that you have.

I7-3770 - 3.4Ghz Processor - $289.98 from Amazon
Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR3 1600mhz RAM - $73.74 from Amazon
ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Motherboard - $189.99 from Amazon
2x Intel 520 Series 240GB 2.5" SSD in RAID1 - $214.99 x2 = $429.98

Corsair Carbide 200r Case - $59.99
Corsair TX550M Modular Power Supply - $89.99
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus heatsink - $28.45

Total: $1162.12

With the remainder, pick up a nice 27" IPS panel, and you're set!

Optional: You could reuse your existing case, but honestly, it's pretty outdated. It doesn't have USB3.0 front panel connectors, and the powersupply is probably well used. You could probably get away with using it, but if you wanted to replace it, you'll get a whole bunch of useful features like cable management (for better airflow within the case = better/quieter cooling) and front panel USB 3.0 (most motherboards these days support that feature). I also added a large heatsink. While not strictly needed for stock clocked systems, they're quite a bit quieter than the stock heatsink that comes with any processor.

HTPC: Z77A-G45; 3770K; Zalman FX70; 2x4GB Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz; MSI GTX960; 2x 128GB Crucial M4 SSD; 4TB WD Red, 2x 2TB WD Green; Corsair RM650I; Corsair Carbide 600C;
Son's Rig: M5A97; FX8350; CNPS20LQ; 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz; Powercolor 7950; 250GB Crucial MX200; 320GB WD Black HDD; SPI 700W; Bitfenix Shinobi;
