I only ever play MMORPG's for a couple months and then get bored of them but Rift was pretty good. I liked the invasions where multiple groups teamed up and worked on clearing the area. I thought that was pretty neat. Once you get to a certain level it is definitely a grindfest, but what MMORPG isn't really? They want you to grind to max level so you pay for your sub while doing it.
As for Bioware, they are a shell of what they used to be. I'm pretty sure the founders of Bioware left the company a couple years after EA took over. I think even some the SWOTOR devs have left them recently.
