The unification of compute cores is overdue.It's a software issue and it's brilliant that Stanford is doing work on this.

The 16-48 (etc) core units (smp) should very definitely be scaleable and measureable VS the 1000+ cores of (gpu) computing.

I'd suggest Stanford learns some valuable information about processor scaling/etc....



edit : .....and yea bout time us GPU guys got some love.
