Default New Gaming PC

Hey Guys,

I'm fairly experienced at selecting parts and building PC's, I have built my previous computers and a few for friends and family.

I was just wondering if you could go over this build and recommend any improvements or changes.

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread
around $2000AUD. I donít necessarily want to spend that much, but I will if required.

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

Adelaide, Australia.

4. Brand Preference.

Have done a bit of research, I am pretty set on getting Intel/Nvidia but if someone can provide reason to go AMD/ATI Iím all ears.

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
- Will use my current mouse/keyboard

-Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD + Headphones
-Audioengine D1 + Audioengine 5 speakers
-CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus
-WD Black 1TB
-Windows 7 Pro

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
I have done a bit of research and have come up with a rough idea of what I want:

ASUS Sabertooth Z77 Motherboard $249
Intel Core i5 3570K $235
G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 $85
ASUS GeForce GTX 670 DirectCU II $479
OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD $219
Samsung SH-224BB/BEBS SATA DVDRW Drive OEM $25
Corsair TX-850M Modular Power Supply $175
NZXT Switch 810 $215
Total $1676

(prices sourced from

7. I do not wish to overclock

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
I would like to build in the next few weeks.

9. What resolution and settings do you use?
-I will be running two monitors at 1920x1080, but only gaming on one. I use the other for internet browsing/Uni work etc. Would like to game on max settings.

10. Are there any specific technologies you want?

- I want a 256GB SSD for Windows/Games.
- SATA3 6.0Gb/s
- Front USB 3.0 headers on the mobo + Case that has USB 3.0 ports at the front.
- The ability to upgrade to SLI in the future
