You definitely need to upgrade you monitor before building for it a system like this.
For graphics/editing/rendering etc you'd want a good IPS (Asus' pro art series, Dell's ultrasharp series),
While for gaming (especially FPS), better get a 120Hz monitor. (Asus VG278H is a decent one).
