It should probably be stated that Sleep Mode has come a long way since the early days as well. I turn it off damn near first thing because of the headaches I had when it first started becoming popular, but my young lad's new build (1366 i7 on an Intel DX58SO ) seems able to go in and out of full sleep mode (completely powered down) without any issues at all. Maybe Intel just does it right because of their experience with business users, but I'm impressed none the less.
