Yeah, the vast majority of apps are available in the Google Play store. A rare few need to be downloaded from the authors website. Sirius satellite radio comes to mind. Once you have an account and it's linked to your phone you can even browse the store on your PC and install the apps to your phone from there. Kind of a neat feature if you are browsing and installing a ton of stuff. https://play.google.com/store

There are apps for everything. I tend to use the simple ones the most, the weather network, facebook, bloomberg, gmail, google maps etc. Definitely get a flashlight app and a ringtone app like Zedge.
