That's a pretty bad practice at your workplace

I've played with building XP MCE DVD's in the past too, and it is always tricky to get it to actually accept MCE keys as really it's just XP Home with the MCE addon (thus 2 CDs). It was just a very clunky solution on MS's part.

If you or somebody you know has MSDN/TechNet subscription, they should be able to get you proper retail media.
