That particular drive shouldn't have a big problem pushing 10-12mb/sec. And on random I/O, such drive is still very competitive with brand new 7200rpm current generation drives.

The -WC means that it is designed to plug into a SCA backplane that uses single-ended (not differential) 16-bit wide SCSI.
