yeah the funny thing is though, I guess I never put it under load but doing most things, even when you had it cranking doing games and stuff it would only go up to about 60-70 at the cores. I pulled the whole board and got a nice new ASRock 4Core1600WIFI board, the one with solid caps, really really nice board. Anyways once I pulled the heat sink on the Celeron, I noticed somthing. I was using the stock pre-applied heat sink paste (which I will never do again) and that it was only worn off in one area. From what I can see it must not have been making very good contact with the chip. The HSF wasn't loose or anything which is really wierd. It would only get as hot as *95C twice when I had it really stressed with ORTHOS, so I hope there is no damage done to the CPU. Anyways that whole board is probably going to go off to one of my cousins whos looking to build a PC. I have a question about the E7200 but I'll make a new thread for that. |
