Personally, I usually enable a custom battery profile on all of my notebooks. I set it to 50% brightness, cap the CPU at 75%, disable the keyboard backlight and set the display to dim after 3 minutes of non-use.
Something else I wanted to mention is the expectation (and complaints) about the lack of some features on this notebook. Adding in a backlit keyboard and a higher resolution screen would have seriously increased the cost, likely to above the $1050 mark. Not only that but keyboard backlighting brings additional challenges like extra heat and the need for a bit more space between the keys and the PCB components, thus increasing the thickness. Personally, I can do without both if it means a sub-$900 ultra portable working experience. My only huge issue with this thing is its glossy screen and bezel.
