I'd say you should be able to get a used Onkyo SR-507 for about $200. It is a great receiver which supports DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD.
The only problem with buying used is shipping charges. Receivers are big, bulky and heavy which will likely bring the cost of a used one very close to that of a brand new unit.
